International workshop on firefighter rescue and breathing apparatus emergencies. Train together, test your rescue procedures and take practical lessons back to your fire department, through three realistic stations with a competitive element.

Learning objectives: Practise searching for firefighters in distress, establishing an air supply and rescuing casualties. Test your procedures and equipment, coordinate a four-person team and take ideas back to your fire department.
Briefings, practical tasks and feedback from judges are planned. Timing and scoring support the training; safety and shared learning come first.

Basement
In a simulated basement with restricted visibility, locate a firefighter in distress, establish an air supply and bring the casualty to safety. Confined routes require a coordinated approach.
Learning objectives: Orientation, systematic search, emergency air supply and coordinated confined-space rescue.
Parking garage
Search for and rescue missing casualties in a confusing environment. Maintain an overview, set priorities and allocate tasks effectively within your team.
Learning objectives: Search methods, orientation, care for multiple casualties and teamwork.
Obstacle course
Wearing full firefighting PPE and breathing from your SCBA, work together through a range of obstacles and rescue tasks. Controlled working and teamwork under physical load are essential.
Learning objectives: Agility, teamwork, rescue techniques and awareness of your air supply.
Physical demands, safety and scoring
You work in full PPE under SCBA, with restricted visibility and confined routes. Moving heavy rescue dummies is planned. Judges supervise stations and may pause or stop a run for safety reasons. Final requirements, scoring and stop criteria will be published before the event.

Eligibility and documents
- Four active fire service members aged 18 or over: one team leader and three firefighters.
- Training and current fitness for operational SCBA use; written confirmation from your fire department is envisaged.
- Bring identification and the required documents to check-in. The exact document list will be provided before registration opens.
International teams should discuss their country's equivalent qualifications and documents with the organisers in advance. Participation is not automatically recognised as a mandatory breathing apparatus exercise; any recognition must be agreed with your own fire department.
Bring your own equipment
Every team brings its own suitable, inspected equipment, including SCBA sets, masks, demand valves and filled breathing-air cylinders. Plan to bring full structural firefighting PPE: protective clothing, boots, gloves, helmet and protective hood.
No on-site cylinder filling service is currently confirmed. Plan for 3 full air cylinders per person, max. 6.8 l and 300 bar. Do not rely on loan equipment or a local cylinder supply without individual confirmation.
Your own rescue equipment may be used. Knives must not be used at the stations. Shears may only be used to overcome designated obstacles; air lines, hoses and equipment must not be damaged. Details of equipment provided at each station will accompany the final equipment instructions.
Discuss cylinder requirements early.
Currently, every team brings its own equipment and filled cylinders. We are trying to secure cylinders for visiting teams. This stock is not secured; cylinders and loan SCBA are not guaranteed.
Contact us early with your team, country, number of participants, SCBA make/model, cylinder requirements and valve connection. Rely on local provision only after explicit confirmation.
Discuss travel dates before firm bookings: your workshop day is allocated by the organisers. Check equipment and cylinder transport conditions with your carrier.

Plan your routeCar
From Berlin, take A10/A12 towards Frankfurt (Oder), Storkow exit. From Dresden, take A13 to Bestensee, then B246 via Prieros to Storkow.
Train
Destination: Storkow (Mark). RB36 connects Königs Wusterhausen, Storkow and Frankfurt (Oder). From Berlin, you can change at Königs Wusterhausen. Arrange the final journey to the hall with your equipment in advance.

Fly to Berlin Brandenburg (BER). Continue to Storkow by train, for example via Königs Wusterhausen, or arrange your own rental vehicle/transfer. The airport station is under Terminal 1, level U2.

Each team arranges and pays for travel and accommodation. No shuttle or airport pickup is confirmed. Discuss your assigned workshop day and support needs before firm bookings. Recheck timetables, engineering works and return services shortly before travelling; connections for August 2027 are not yet confirmed.

The participant information summarises the schedule, stations, registration and equipment. The separate fire department confirmation must be completed and signed by an authorised representative of your department. The participation and liability waiver is for review only; the binding version is the one signed on site on the workshop day.

€200 per four-person team.
6–7 August 2027 · Europaschule Storkow. Each team completes all three stations on one day. Organisers assign the day and start times; no free choice of day. Check in at least one hour before your start.
Workshop fee: €200 per team (€50 per person). Changing rooms, showers and water for the teams are available on site. Other catering is not confirmed. Loan SCBA and cylinders are not guaranteed.
Registration planned for November 2026. How it works: you register online and receive an acknowledgement. The 20 slots are allocated in the order registrations are received; after that we keep a waiting list. With your registration confirmation, Freiwillige Feuerwehr Stadt Storkow (Mark) e.V. sends you the invoice. Your slot is confirmed once your payment has been received. Individuals without a team can contact us; we will try to place them in a team. The exact opening date, cancellation and replacement-team rules and the terms of participation will follow before opening.
Planned daily schedule and check-in
Check-in from 08:00, welcome and safety briefing at 09:00, stations from 09:30. Fifty-minute slots with preparation, practical work and debrief are planned. The daily schedule and briefings for later starts are still being developed. Participation and liability documents are signed on site and are intended to be available for review beforehand.
